These patches have only been tested with PowerTracksV9.
For some reason
PG Music made a "GM2" button in Band-in-a-Box, but
has no GM2 support at all for the GM2 patches inside PowerTracks.
The 1st INI patch file for GM2 uses multiple banks within the patch list using (Bank xx) and (BankLSB xx).
The (Bank xx) setting sets only the MSB SETTING.
The (BankLSB xx) setting sets the LSB SETTING.
By using the
[General MIDI XG] name, PowerTracksV9 will display the instrument icons.

PT9 Mixer uses a lot of resources in Win98 / WinME
These are the usage measured on my Win98 system:
(there might be up to 10% variation on these figures, depending on the sequence of other programs loaded before loading PT9)
- 1280x1024 screen resolution, 48 tracks-mixer, uses 50% system, 50% user and 47% gdi resources
- 1024x768 screen resolution, 24 tracks-mixer, uses 42% system, 39% user and 44% gdi resources
- 800x600 screen resolution, 16 tracks-mixer, uses 39% system, 35% user and 44% gdi resources
Conclusion:
A large number of mixer-tracks is a major cause of windows-resource usage in Win98.
If I read through the PowerTracks forum most users do not need 24 tracks.
Also, PT9 keeps more MDI windows open and minimized than PT8. Inside the MDI windows
are a large numbers of "Windows Controls". These Windows Controls consume windows-resources.
This is the reason why most other sequencers use a graphics-based user-interface.
